Kirsty Lee Akers has a new country music project brewing. Joined by her husband producer-director, Jesse Anderson and lead guitarist, Dan Ebbels, the trio have formed new band, Rhinestoned.

“For so long now (18 years to be exact) my husband Jesse has been my biggest fan and biggest supporter and always let me shine the brightest with him being the one in the background, backstage, filming my music videos or selling my merch, but its time the world see's just how talented he is also!” Akers shared on social media

“My guitarist Dan is someone who has been my left hand man for over 11 years now playing in my band, so the three of us (well mainly me and they agreed) decided to start a trio where we could play music together all the time and take it from just jamming out together at home to on the big stage!”

On their facebook page, the trio performs a cover of Brooks & Dunn’s Neon Moon.

“We love 90's country, it's what the three of us grew up on and what helped shape us as artists/musicians,” the video is captioned. “Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing a few acoustic covers of songs we grew up listening to. The first one is one that always takes us back... There's no better than Brooks & Dunn and Neon Moon.”

As well as having a successful and award-winning career as a country music singer-songwriter, Akers also has her own record label, Rider Records alongside Nardia Drayton. Additionally, she and Anderson also competed on season 17 of The Block, in which they took home a $300,000 profit. They have since been sharing updates from their own home renovation via The Kirsty and Jesse Podcast.

In our September 2021 interview, Akers also revealed she wrote two children’s books and a script for a TV show during lockdown. “I have so much on my bucket list to do,” she said.

Her sixth and latest album – WILD – hit #1 on the ARIA Australian Album and Country Albums charts as well as #11 on the All-Genres Album chart.
