Sara Storer joins the Muster off the back of her sixth album Silos and just before she takes off to tour with Fanny Lumsden later in the year. The highly acclaimed Australian performer and multiple Golden Guitar winner will grace the Muster stage with new songs written since moving from Darwin to Albury 18 months ago. Having a rural upbringing on a wheat farm in Victoria and living close to the land ever since, her new songs resonate with a rich and emotive belonging to the Australian outback landscape and people, including her four sons who feature on the album.

The talented Warren H. Williams, often regarded as one of the best and most highly decorated indigenous artists will also perform, accompanied by Dani Young to perform fan favourites and classics. Williams is proud to share unique cultural stories in performance with honey-toned singer songstress Dani Young as they perform their latest release Desert Water which contains universal themes of love and loss, family, friendship and reconciliation. Having performed with John Williamson, and being the first Black (Aboriginal) and White Australian duo to record an album in Nashville, the pair are captivating audiences and as they share Williams’ proud indigenous heritage through timeless country music ballads.

Charming country songstress and 2014 X-Factor finalist Caitlyn Shadboltreturns after a hugely successful year of accolades and awards. The 20 year old Gympie girl already has a long list of accomplishments. With chart topping iTunes success from her single ‘Maps Out The Window’, #1 status for her‘Shoot Out the Lights’ video on Airplay and CMC charts, and top 10 self-titled EP ARIA chart ranking, Caitlyn continues to win over new audiences across the country.

Prestigious songwriting star and “singer’s singer” Drew McAlister will join the celebration to perform songs from his highly acclaimed new album Black Sky. This is the first solo release since the breakup of renowned duo McAlister Kemp (Drew McAlister and Troy Kemp) this year. Pop Standen will also perform with impressive guitar slinger Phil Emmanuel, (brother of eminent guitarist Tommy Emmanuel) to stun audiences with their unmissable talent. Last year’s Muster fan favourite Tim Wheatley also returns alongside acts including fun-loving kids band the Blue Skillet Rovers and the original voice of ‘Wickety Wak’ Greg Doolan.

In the spirit of celebrating the event’s rich 35-year history Mike McClellan will feature with Greg Doolan and Jade Hurley in a special 35th anniversary tribute. This all-star special event called ‘COLLABORATION’ will be a fitting finale to 35th anniversary celebrations when it closes the Muster on the main stage on Sunday 28th August.

The third artist line-up was also announced today at the Mates4Mates charity partner launch event which formally welcomed Mates4Mates as the beneficiary of the charity proceeds. This will help them continue their work with recovering Australian Defence Force personnel with mental and physical injuries as a result of their service.

Run by the community, for the Community, the Muster continues to be a not-for-profit charity event which has raised in excess of $15 Million for local community groups and charities Australia wide since its inception.

Held in the Amamoor Creek State Forest in the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland, the Muster will feature over 120 stellar artists in more than 300 performances across multiple stages. An unmissable event for music lovers, one ticket price gives Muster goers free camping and multi-venue access to all performances to experience everything Australia’s biggest country music celebration has to offer.

KIX POLL RESULTS: Best Country Album for 2016 is...?

We asked the question in our Kix Poll who should win the 'Best Country Album' category at next months ARIA Awards. Just to recap the nominees were in no particular order:

Sara Storer - Silos; Fanny Lumsden - Small Town Big Shot; Bill Chambers - Cold Trail; The Wolfe Brothers - This Crazy Life; Adam Brand & The Outlaws - self titled.

There's no doubt that they are quality albums, but as the Highlander famously said, there can be only one. Although, for a long while there the results were tied for first spot, with both Adam Brand & The Outlaws and The Wolfe Brothers going neck and neck for quite some time. However, there was one winner and that was Adam Brand & The Outlaws winning the popular vote with 34.26% of the vote for their self titled album. This was followed by The Wolfe Brothers and their 'This Crazy Life' album with 31.94%.

Third position was pretty clear - although, she ran away with the votes early - Fanny Lumsden's 'Small Town Big Shot' achieved 24.07% of votes. A great effort for an independent artist who had crowd funded her debut release. It proves that if you have the talent and are willing to work hard, good things can happen.

In fourth position was daylight, followed by Sara Storer's 'Silos', which achieved 8.8% of the vote and then Bill Chambers received just 0.93% of the vote for his album 'Cold Trail'. This is probably more of an indication based on the KIX demographic of listeners than those particular albums themselves.

Sara Storer Announces New Album

Sara StorerSara Storer has moved from the Top End to a property near Albury in New South Wales recently. This means that she is now closer to all her friends and other artists in the music industry. A move that she says was a good one to make, although she still has four kids to chase around on a constant basis, so she definitely is still a very busy woman who is trying to balance Sara Storer the artist and Sara Storer the mum.

Somehow she has managed it because she has announced on her Facebook page that there is a new album on the horizon and it'll be out sooner than you think. This will follow up the first single which is out now 'Purple Cockies'.

Sara Storer Wins First ARIA Award for Silos

Sara Storer

Sara Storer took out the ARIA Best Country Album Award for Silos. It was her fifth nomination and she was finally happy to win one.

"I've been wanting one of these for a very long time... now I can retire." she joked.

The album was certainly a family affair, and she paid tribute to those who contributed.

"I have six siblings I have cowritten with on this album. My big brother Greg who is on a tractor harvesting right now, I thank him for writing with me on this album." she said.

Sara Storer managed to claim the victory over Adam Brand & The Outlaws, The Wolfe Brothers, Fanny Lumsden and Bill Chambers. It was certainly a surprise victory judging by how Kix listeners voted when we ran a Kix Poll on who would win the Best Country Album award. Sara Storer was a clear 4th with just 8.8% of the vote.

Silos was Storer's first album in 3 years and featured songs like 'Purple Cockies' and 'Dandelions'. We caught up with her earlier this year to talk about the album:
