It appears that Australia will soon host a new country music festival, and Shaboozey might be headlining the event.
The new player, Strummingbird Festival, posted a video teaser on social media on Friday (18 July), stating that the event is “coming soon” and shared the line: “Someone pour me up a double shot of whiskey/ There’s a festival Down Under in the country.”
The rest of the video shows country music fans donning cowboy hats and boots, dancing, and having a good time. Strummingbird Festival captioned the video, “Sign up to get tipsy link in bio.” Check out the teaser below.

If Shaboozey does head to Australia for Strummingbird Festival, it would mark his debut performance Down Under.
Earlier this year, Shaboozey was performing in Nashville when he was presented with his official plaque to mark his entry into Spotify’s Billions Club. Countrytown was there in Nashville and captured Shaboozey’s gratitude-filled comments after receiving the award.
“Last year, when the song came out, I remember getting a plaque upstairs for going Platinum,” he remembered. “The fact that you guys show me how much… how you guys accepted me into Nashville and accepted me into country music as a brother, I love y’all so much.”
Shaboozey then took the stage for a performance of A Bar Song (Tipsy), which has topped charts around the world and broken numerous records. It also resulted in a handful of Grammy Award nominations, as well as a nomination at the APRA Awards for Most Performed International Work of the Year.
Australia is already home to an impressive number of country music festivals, with CMC Rocks, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Deni Ute Muster, Ridin’ Hearts, Groundwater Country Music Festival, Gympie Music Muster, and others making waves Down Under.
Earlier this month, Live Nation unveiled a report revealing that Gen Z is leading the charge in country music’s popularity in Australia.
A whopping 68% of Gen Z listeners say they’re tuning into more country music than ever before, thanks to the genre’s seamless crossovers with pop, rock, and hip-hop. Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, Post Malone’s country pivot, and breakout artists like Shaboozey are just a few examples of this cultural collision.
