Morgan Wallen has been crowned the Top Male Artist across all genres at this year’s Billboard Music Awards, taking home four awards in total. After Thursday’s (12 December) broadcast, Wallen has taken his Billboard Music Awards tally to 19, falling just shy of Garth Brooks’ record as the country artist with the most wins.
However impressive Wallen’s night was, Zach Bryan bested him, taking home five awards at this year’s ceremony. Shaboozey was the sole country crossover artist to take home three awards, sharing company with Bad Bunny, Drake, and Elevation Worship.
Post Malone also took home his 11th-ever Billboard Music Award for Top Collaboration, thanks to his track I Had Some Help featuring Morgan Wallen. Other winners included Kacey Musgraves, Linkin Park, SZA, Charli XCX, Teddy Swims, and more—all of whom picked up two awards.
Notably, Red Clay Strays won the Top Country Duo/Group award, beating Zac Brown Band and Treaty Oak Revival. In a surprising win, Beyoncé was named Top Country Female Artist, beating Megan Moroney and Lainey Wilson.
Finalists for four awards, including Luke Combs, Billie Eilish, Jack Harlow, and The Weeknd, didn’t pick up any awards, nor did Sabrina Carpenter, who had received nine nominations.
