The 2026 Gympie Music Muster is shaping up to be one of its biggest and most diverse years yet, with organisers dropping a second artist announcement that adds 36 new names to the bill.
Set against the iconic backdrop of Amamoor Creek State Forest from August 27 to 30, the beloved festival now boasts 68 announced acts, blending country, rock, blues and everything in between.
Following the earlier reveal of US standout Larry Fleet, this latest drop leans into what the Muster does best: mixing crowd favourites with rising stars and a few long-awaited returns.
Gympie Music Muster Program Director Bec Anderson said the 2026 program is all about variety.
“I’m really happy with the program we’re building this year,” she said. “We’re welcoming back some crowd favourites but we’re also bringing some first timers and a few you might not have seen on the line up for a little while which is exciting; there’s going to be something for everyone.”
Among the fresh additions is Steph Strings, who’s finally making her Muster debut. "I’ve heard so much about the Muster over the years, and I’m absolutely thrilled to finally be joining the lineup,” she said. "Most of my excitement comes from the fact that I get to wear my cowgirl boots at a country festival! I’m also so excited to finally bring my band to Gympie."
Also returning is Aussie country mainstay Lyn Bowtell, who brings a full-circle moment to the 2026 event. “I’ve been coming to the Muster since Keith Urban played the main stage in 1991,” she said.
“I remember standing on a stranger’s esky just so I could see. I was a 14-year-old kid with big dreams of standing on that stage one day, so it definitely doesn’t go without a deep sense of gratitude that I’ll be playing there this year.”
Bowtell also highlighted what makes the festival stand out. “There’s something really special about the way each area is set up, every space has its own vibe and personality,” she said.
Adding a different flavour to the lineup is Reuben Styles’ solo project Y.O.G.A., which blends country classics with electronic energy. “I’m extremely excited to be coming back to Gympie this year,” he said. “Heading over there in 2024 was a huge eye-opener, not just for what festivals are, but what they can be. It was the most incredible experience walking around and taking it all in… Gympie really feels like a festival for the people.”
Elsewhere, artists like Catherine Britt, Robbie Mortimer and Jack Botts add further depth, alongside international acts from New Zealand including Jenny Mitchell and The Mitchell Twins.
Queensland’s Minister for the Environment and Tourism Andrew Powell also emphasised the festival’s broader impact. “Events like the Muster draw thousands of visitors to regional Queensland, delivering a major boost for local businesses, jobs and tourism operators,” Mr Powell said. “We want Queensland to be the home of great Australian events and the Gympie Music Muster is a perfect example of that.”
With more artists still to come, the 2026 Muster is already shaping up as a must-attend event..
