March 2, 2026 10:56 am in by

Australian country icon Adam Harvey is hitting the road this May and June to celebrate 25 years of his breakout album Workin’ Overtime. The 2001 release helped define a new wave of Australian country and put Harvey on the map.

Workin’ Overtime delivered number one hits including The House That Jack Built and The Shake Of A Hand and went on to win Album of the Year at the 2002 Australian Country Music Awards.

On the same night, Harvey also took home Male Artist of the Year, a career defining moment that cemented him as one of the genre’s leading voices.

"I can't believe it's been that long since I released Workin' Overtime. That album really changed everything for me. I won Male Artist Of The Year and Album Of The Year at the Country Music Awards, and it was my first album to be certified Gold.” Harvey tells Countrytown.

“Once that album was released I could go out and tour my own show, and I guess that was the moment I realised my dream of being able to do what I love for a living"

Fast forward 25 years and the stats are stacked: half a million album sales, gold and platinum records, nine Golden Guitar Awards and an induction into the Australasian Country Music Roll of Renown.

The anniversary tour promises a full circle moment for longtime fans, with Harvey set to perform tracks from Workin’ Overtime, alongside his biggest hits and a handful of classic country crowd pleasers. Expect rich vocals, plenty of storytelling and, if history tells us anything, a few well-timed dad jokes.

Joining Harvey for the entire run is singer-songwriter Dingo (Brandon Dodd), best known for his distinctive guitar work in Kasey Chambers’ band. Dingo will showcase material from his forthcoming album, bringing his own brand of storytelling to the lineup.

If you grew up on Aussie country in the early 2000s, or just appreciate a masterclass in live entertainment, this one’s worth clocking in for.
