After seven months of marriage, Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for divorce from Australian singer and Hannah Montana alum Firerose.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce from Firerose – real name Johanna Rose Hodges – on 22 May, citing “inappropriate marital conduct” and “irreconcilable differences” as the reasons for divorce.
Cyrus is also seeking an annulment on the marriage, which took place in October 2023, on the grounds of fraud.
At the time of writing, neither a representative for Cyrus nor Firerose responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Back in October, the pair shared some loved-up wedding photos on Instagram, writing in the caption: “10/10/23 will always be the beautiful, joyous day that our two souls united as one in holy matrimony. It was the most perfect, ethereal celebration of love we could have ever imagined.
“For both of us to hear the preacher say, ‘Billy Ray and Firerose Cyrus… I now pronounce you husband and wife’. That was the sacred moment our new forever began. Long Live Love!”
Billy Ray and Firerose got engaged in 2022, although the date was unclear, as seen on social media. The couple sent the internet into a frenzy on 13 September when Firerose posted to Instagram with the caption “taking in the moment...” and wearing what looked like an engagement ring.
However, in October, she shared another post with Cyrus, showing off a giant diamond ring. No “we're engaged” was written—the post was captioned “Happy Autumn.”
Billy Ray and Firerose met on the set of Hannah Montana, the Disney Channel series that catapulted Billy’s daughter, Miley, to superstardom.
Cyrus was previously married to Tish Cyrus for 28 years. Tish Cyrus filed for divorce in April 2022, citing "irreconcilable differences."
Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus raised five children together, including Miley, Braison, and Noah. Brandi and Trace are from Tish's previous marriage.
