Five years since he took Famous Friends to the top of the charts, Chris Young is now taking it to the streets of Nashville, announcing the forthcoming launch of his new sports bar of the same name.
Located in the heart of Nashville’s Midtown neighbourhood, the new Famous Friends bar will be set at 1516A Demonbreun St, just a matter of steps away from the iconic Tin Roof.
It’s also located a short walk away from Riley Green‘s Duck Blind bar.
“I'm very excited for Famous Friends to be open in Nashville! I have been working on this as a passion project for a while now,” Young told Billboard in a statement.
“A sports bar that will be Nashville famous for a reason. Something completely different where you can bring all your friends for a great time!”
A Tennessee native, Young launched his musical career proper in 2006, taking out the fourth season of the Nashville Star reality TV series.
While he's achieved widespread chart success over the coming years – with cuts like The Man I Want To Be, You, and Tomorrow all topping the US Country Songs and Country Airplay charts – it was in 2020 that Young released his Famous Friends track.
A collaboration with fellow Tennessean Kane Brown and taken from the album of the same name, the track became Young's highest-charting on the US charts, hitting No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100, and topping both the US Country Airplay and Canadian Country charts.
Currently, specifics about the Famous Friends bar – including what features it will boast, what sort of entertainment programming it will host, and the ever-important opening date – are yet to be announced, though a social media account for the venue has been launched to keep fans up to date.
Young’s latest record, tenth album I Didn't Come Here To Leave, arrived back in October, with a two-track Christmas single – featuring the tracks Christmas Ain't Christmas and Silver Bells – being released in November.
