Dasha just pulled off one of the fastest climbs country music has seen in years, officially joining Spotify’s ultra-exclusive Billions Club with her breakout smash Austin (Boots Stop Workin’).
The track has crossed one billion streams in exactly two years, making her only the second solo female country artist ever to hit the milestone - a club previously occupied by just one name: Taylor Swift.
For Dasha, the moment is still sinking in. “I still can't wrap my head around this. Austin changed my life, and now just two years after I put it out on my own - it's officially hit a billion streams on Spotify. Knowing that the only solo female country artist to do that before me is Taylor Swift, someone who's inspired me from day one, feels completely surreal,” shares Dasha.
“All I've ever wanted is to make music that helps people feel like the strongest, most badass version of themselves. Austin was written in pure rage, but it somehow turned into this beautiful source of community and empowerment. I'm the luckiest girl in the world. I have the best team, the best family and friends, and now a billion streams on my first breakout song… that's the juiciest cherry on top.”
The speed of Austin’s rise is part of what makes the achievement so wild. What started as a fiery breakup anthem - and then a viral line dancing trend - quickly exploded into a global phenomenon, helping the track earn over 50x Platinum certifications worldwide and dominate playlists throughout 2024.
The milestone cements Dasha as one of the fastest moving and most talked about new forces in country music. Austin (Boots Stop Workin’) was more than just a hit, it was a moment.
