Disney is officially entering its country era.
Announced this week, Main Street Country is a brand new EP from The Walt Disney Company that reimagines classic Disney songs through a country lens, bringing together a stacked lineup of artists to give these nostalgic tracks a fresh spin.
Dropping April 3 via Walt Disney Records, the project follows the success of the pop-punk tribute A Whole New Sound, but this time leans fully into storytelling and heart.
Leading the charge are Kane Brown and Katelyn Brown, who take on Beauty and the Beast and for them, it’s a pretty personal full circle moment. “Our whole family is captivated by the magic of Disney and we go every year for our daughter Kingsley’s birthday,” Kane shares. Katelyn adds, “It truly is a dream come true for Kane and I to sing ‘Beauty & The Beast’ together and to be part of such an amazing legacy.”
Restless Road rework The Climb, originally performed by Miley Cyrus, while Dasha brings a modern country edge to She’s So Gone. For Dasha, the track hits close to home: “I think ‘She’s So Gone’ is one of the most iconic songs to come out of Disney Channel… this track really captures that moment when women find themselves and boldly show the world who they are.”
Maddie & Tae also step in with a reimagining of You’ll Be in My Heart, and the moment isn’t lost on them. “Getting to sing one of our favorite Disney songs feels like coming full circle for us,” they share. “We grew up on these soundtracks… it feels like we’re honoring the little girls we were, and the magical journey we’ve been on together.”
Meanwhile, BRELAND takes on Go the Distance, calling the experience deeply personal: “Getting to create some of that same Disney magic that shaped my childhood… is easily one of the most special things I’ve done as an artist.”
For Restless Road, the crossover between country and Disney just works. “Being part of Main Street Country feels like stepping into a story we grew up believing in,” they say. “It’s an incredible honor to represent country music in a space that reaches so many ears and hearts.”
At its core, Main Street Country taps into what both Disney and country music do best, telling stories that stick with you.
