Country rising star Dylan Marlowe had a surreal experience at Country Jam in Eau Claire, Wisconsin over the weekend, one that ended with security escorting him out of the very festival he’d just performed at.
In a now-deleted video posted to his social media, Marlowe showed himself being removed from the event by security after his set. The clip showed a very calm Marlowe being led through the crowd by security while Jake Owen was mid-performance. In a humorous twist, Owen could be heard over the mic saying, “That’s Dylan Marlowe,” as the incident unfolded in real time.
Naturally, the video went viral. But by Sunday afternoon, Marlowe had taken it down and shared a follow-up TikTok explaining the situation in full. “I just want to hop on here and kinda clear the air a little bit of what I posted yesterday,” he said, explaining that after sleeping on it, he decided it wasn’t fair for the festival to be framed by a single interaction.
Marlowe explained that he and a friend were watching Owen’s set from a front-of-house tower using both their all access and artist credentials. A security guard approached and told them to leave. “We were like, ‘Hey. We have All Access wristbands given to our tour manager for us to wear to be anywhere we want to be. That’s what we were told.’” Still, they were asked to move on and were then eventually removed entirely.
Marlowe admitted that the conversation got heated and said, “I’m not going to paint it like I was this perfectly great dude. I was rude back to him.” He added that the guard grabbed him by the shirt and physically removed him.
Still, Marlowe ended the story on a gracious note: “There’s no hard feelings. We had a great time. To that dude, I forgive you.”
