Country music fans, foodies, and fun-loving families, mark your calendars. The FLAME BBQ & Music Festival is rolling into Jimboomba Park this Saturday, 13 September, and it’s serving up a perfect blend of smoky eats, sizzling beats, and all-ages entertainment. This is your ultimate spring day out and the soundtrack alone is worth the ticket.
Taking centre stage is Max Jackson, fresh off her Golden Guitar wins for Female Artist of the Year and Single of the Year. If you’ve been waiting to see this powerhouse live, now’s your chance. She’ll be joined by Australian Idol semi-finalist Jake Whittaker, whose voice is as smooth as a top-shelf. And if you’re keen to belt out your favourite hits under a dusky Queensland sky, country party-starter Dee Jaye Bux and live legends Exit 24 will keep the boots stomping and the vibes high for over six hours of live music.
And while the music takes centre stage, it’s only half the fun.
For just $40 a family (that’s 2 adults and all the kids), you’re getting unlimited rides, live entertainment, and full access to everything the festival has to offer. Adult tickets are $20 online ($25 on the day), and under 18s are free.
Once you've picked your spot on the grass, it’s time to explore. From slow-cooked BBQ and food trucks stacked with flavour, to licensed bars pouring cold drinks and classic cocktails, your taste buds are in for a wild ride.
There’s also plenty of action to keep the whole crew entertained with fire knife performers, flaming whip shows, line dancing workshops, and markets showcasing local gems.
Kids (and big kids) can ride the Kamikaze, Super Sizzler, or jump into inflatable horse racing, face painting, and whip-cracking workshops. There are the iconic competitions: the hilarious Battle of the Mullet, the frantic Team Relay Eating, Kids’ Trivia Eating, and the crowd-favourite Country Spouse Shout hosted by MC Sienna Mallon and the ever-energetic Jimmy Judge, who may or may not be roped into another one of his legendary food challenges.
Whether you're chasing a family day out that won’t break the bank or just looking for an excuse to wear your best boots and eat barbecue for seven hours straight — FLAME BBQ & Music Festival is your go-to this spring.
