California-born country artist Jesse Daniel is heading to Australia this October for a string of shows across QLD, NSW, VIC, and WA. With the release of his latest studio album Son of the San Lorenzo earlier this year, Daniel has created what many critics are calling his most introspective work yet, and now he’s bringing it all to life in front of Aussie crowds.
Daniel’s reputation among traditional country fans has been built on raw songwriting, incredible live performances, and a work ethic that doesn’t quit. With Son of the San Lorenzo, he pushes into new terrain while still staying deeply rooted in that famous Bakersfield, California country rock sound, blending hints of The Eagles, the Flying Burrito Brothers, and Southern rock icons like Led Zeppelin and the Allman Brothers.
The album was recorded “live to tape” at The Bomb Shelter in Nashville and features eleven tracks that tell a rugged, unfiltered life story. From hitchhiking through the Santa Cruz Mountains to battling addiction, and from the people who saved him to the music that formed him, Son of the San Lorenzo is both confession and celebration.
“I wrote, arranged and produced this record myself. I also took on much of the sonic direction, including percussion, rhythm and lead guitar, harmonies and more, which I think is a really important piece of the puzzle given how personal these songs are.” shares Daniel. “I felt like I was finally ready to stop running and face things head on with this record. I felt like I’d matured enough to go deeper than I ever had before, to try and understand how I get here and where I’m headed.”
For fans in Australia, this tour presents a chance not just to hear the new songs live, but to experience the evolution of an artist who has been through the grind, the glory, and everything in between. Special guest Tori Forsyth will join Daniel on most of the dates, adding to what promises to be a powerful and intimate live experience.
As Jesse Daniel puts it, Son of the San Lorenzo is a record grounded in both roots and ambition and this Australian tour could not come at a better time. If his previous shows are any guide, expect gritty guitars, emotional honesty, and a stage presence that never feels performative.
