Tennessee singer-songwriter Larry Fleet has been added to this year’s Gympie Music Muster line-up, bringing his band to the festival on Friday, 28 August.

The Working Man singer returns to Australia for his second visit in as many years. One of Queensland’s most-loved festivals, Fleet joins a line-up that features Australian stars such as Beccy Cole, James Johnston, Lee Kernaghan, Amber Lawrence, The Wolfe Brothers, Taylor Moss, Lane Pittman, Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley, and more, plus Canadian act PETRIC.

To celebrate Fleet’s addition to the line-up, the festival is offering early access to limited Friday festival day passes, which will be available until Tuesday, 7 April.

“We are so thrilled to be adding Larry to our 2026 line-up,” said Gympie Music Muster Program Director Bec Anderson.

Reflecting on his Australian debut at CMC Rocks last year and his impending return, Fleet commented, “On my first trip to Australia last year, I honestly didn’t know what to expect or how everyone would react to my music, but before I was even off the stage, I was already planning on coming back as soon as I could.”

He continued, “The Australian people made me feel at home with how engaged and a part of the show they were. Singing every lyric, it’s almost like they did their homework to not only make sure that they had a good time, but that we did as well.

“And if there’s one thing I learned, it’s that Australians know how to have a damn good time.”

Sharing his excitement for performing at the Gympie Music Muster for the first time, Fleet added, “I never thought I’d be excited about travelling thousands of miles away from home, but August can’t get here soon enough. I don’t know much about the Muster, but plan to learn and experience as much as I can as soon as I get there.

“I’m honoured to share the stage with so many other talented musicians, so I assure you the band and I aren’t travelling all that way to bring anything less than our best show, and no doubt the Muster Mates will be ready for a whole lot of country music, storytelling and a night we’ll be telling our grandkids about one day.”

QLD Minister for the Environment and Tourism, Andrew Powell, concluded, “Larry Fleet joining the Gympie Music Muster is a great example of the international talent we can attract to the region to strengthen the appeal of our major events.

“It adds an even stronger drawcard to an event that already holds a special place for country music fans, with the festival anticipated to generate more than $15.7 million for the state’s economy.”
