Nate Smith is in the middle of a bucket-list tour supporting Jason Aldean.
What should have been a thrilling month for the artist has taken a turn for the worse, however, as he’s been struggling with vocal issues.
Smith has been ordered to stay on “strict vocal rest” through the end of June, which means that he’ll unfortunately have to cancel his appearance at CMA Fest and other performances. Smith will now properly rest his voice for the first time in almost five years.
Smith shared the news in a social media post today (5 June). His statement reads:
Hey friends,
I have some news to share, and this one is tough for me. 2025 has already been such a blast, I hope you know how seeing you all at my shows gives me so much life! While I'm currently on a dream tour with Aldean (still can't believe I'm on this tour!), I recently had to cancel a few appearances after struggling with some vocal issues.
After trying everything I could do and under the direction of my doctors, I'm now on strict vocal rest through the end of June. We've all come to the decision that the best way to get my voice fully back is to rest it for the first time in almost five years. This is the part that is so hard for me, because I have multiple bucket list shows coming up this month (including CMA Fest), and it breaks my heart knowing I won't be there to see all of you!
My commitment to everyone is to truly rest so I can get back out to do what I love more than anything. My voice will absolutely recover, and I'll be dreaming of the road until then. Promise I'Il make it up to you!
Love, Nate
