Rachael Fahim has officially claimed the top spot on the Australian Country Airplay Chart with her single Too Damn Hot, becoming the first Australian female artist, and only the second Australian artist overall, to hit #1 in 2025.
Yes, you read that right: only the second this year. Lane Pittman hit #1 back in February with Amen For The Weekend and there’s been none others until now. And after spending two stubborn weeks parked at #2, Fahim’s track finally nudged its way to the top spot, marking another serious milestone for the singer songwriter.
“OMG! Hitting the #1 spot is something every artist dreams of and to be the first Australian female to achieve this in 2025 is a big win for us girls out there chasing our dreams! A huge shoutout to Australian radio for their support, I am humbled that my music is being so well received,” Fahim shared.
Nicole Richards, Managing Director of Island Records Australia, added: “It’s been a huge year for Australian country music, and we are so proud of this breakthrough achievement for Rachael Fahim, as the first Australian female artist to claim the #1 spot on the country airplay chart this year. We have some incredible talent in this country, and it is vital that we continue to champion their local success.”
Too Damn Hot follows a string of strong releases, including her earlier single Who You Are, which stalled at #2 but helped lay the foundation for this win. The new track becomes Fahim’s sixth #1 Country Radio single, and has also seen crossover success at commercial radio.
Produced by Robby De Sa (Flume, Vera Blue) and Liam Quinn (Rita Ora), Too Damn Hot leans into Fahim’s signature combination of emotional vulnerability and belted-out empowerment .
The #1 adds fuel to what’s been a stacked year for Fahim: a 56-date national tour with Pete Murray and performances with Missy Higgins. Next year she’ll support US star Jordan Davis on his Australian and New Zealand arena run, just after her headline show at the 2026 Tamworth Country Music Festival.
And there’s more music on the way! Fahim’s currently working between Los Angeles, Nashville and Sydney on her debut album, which will no doubt be one of the most anticipated albums of 2026.
