Con artists have been around long before the invention of the internet, but now it’s easier than ever to be deceived, especially online.
Sophisticated scammers have taken their grift to the next level. Fans of Hayley Jensen have started receiving not just typical messages, but AI generated voice messages which match Jensen’s voice to a tee.
Jensen shared a warning on her social media, originally as a story but deciding to take it to the feed deciding it was serious enough to warrant a post.
Jensen reiterated to fans that her only accounts on Facebook and Instagram are those with the verified blue ticks, and there are no secondary accounts in which she would ever try to contact a fan or friend from.
“It’s been brought to my attention that there is an impersonator account messaging people on Instagram & they have used an AI GENERATED VOICE that sounds EXACTLY like me, to convince people that it is me & I’m wanting to get to know them better…i do love getting to know, but this is NOT me.” Jensen captioned her post.
She also urged her fans to report and block any accounts that reach out and ask for personal information online, and cautioned everyone to “be safe out there”.
Jensen recently dropped her fourth studio albumCountry Soul and is currently touring it around the nation. As a fully independent artist, Jensen was involved in every aspect of the creation of the album. From writing and recording, to producing visuals and overseeing vinyl pressings. It’s a process that is challenging, time consuming and has a high emotional toll, it was completely worth it.
“I haven’t really done that in my other albums before, so I thought I would take a punt this time. It feels great because it all feels like a part of me is being released.” Jensen told Countrytown
Country Soul marks a major milestone. It’s bold, dynamic and bursting with authenticity - just like Jensen.
