Tyla Rodrigues and Braxton Keith might just be the next cross-country pairing country fans didn’t know they needed.
Over the weekend, Keith quietly stirred up buzz online after sharing a teaser from an upcoming new song on Instagram and eagle eyed fans were quick to notice a familiar face, our very own Australian rising star Tyla Rodrigues.
The clip, which shows the pair separately recording vocals but singing the same melody, all but confirms a new duet between the two artists, sparking speculation that the track could arrive any day now.
The timing isn’t random either. Both Rodrigues and Keith are already booked on the lineup for next weekend’s CMC Rocks QLD, Australia’s biggest international country music festival, making it a pretty safe bet fans will hear the collaboration live for the first time when they hit the stage.
For Rodrigues, the buzz arrives while she’s already having a massive international moment. The Australian country breakout is currently in London performing at C2C: Country to Country, one of the biggest country music festivals in Europe, where she’s been introducing UK crowds to her fast growing catalogue.
Meanwhile, Keith is in the middle of a huge run of shows across Australia as part of Riley Green’s Cowboy As It Gets Tour, bringing his traditional leaning Texas country sound to packed venues alongside the US superstar.
The collaboration makes plenty of sense musically. Both artists lean into a modern take on classic country storytelling, Keith with his honky-tonk roots and Rodrigues with her blend of powerhouse vocals and contemporary country edge.
And with both of them landing on the same festival lineup next weekend, the stage is perfectly set.
If the Instagram teaser is anything to go by, the duet is coming soon, and there’s a very good chance the first real test run will happen in front of thousands of fans at CMC Rocks. The only questions is, when will the song officially drop?
Stay tuned.
