We’re well into the latest season of Farmer Wants A Wife, and as the excitement begins to heat up, so too has there been a surprise guest on this week’s episode.

For those who tuned into Monday night’s episode, they would have been met with footage of not only the Country Ball, but guest performer Amy Sheppard. Taking to socials, Sheppard explained that she made her appearance alongside fellow musicians Ben Mackay and Lee Novak.

Speaking to Pedestrian of the experience, Sheppard explained that her guest spot was filmed late last year, soon after the release of her solo record, Born To Be Country. Despite being “about 20 weeks pregnant” at the time of the shoot, Sheppard admitted it was still “a lot of fun”.

“It was a full day of rehearsals, set up, and then in the evening we filmed the ball,” she told the publication. “The crew were super friendly, and the property was beautiful.”

While only three snippets of her work made it into the final episode, Sheppard confirmed that she performed a total of six songs on the day (including Born To Be Country, Home To Me, Couple Goals, Lucky, Anything But Wild, and Ain't About To Let Go).

One rehearsal run-through was filmed, before another with “all the farmers and the ladies”, without any need to spend too much time labouring over each of the tracks.

Additionally, Sheppard also admitted she was unable to provide any insights into the relationships between the couple, noting she and here band “were kept a little separate,” and therefore unable to learn any names or “who were the ‘frontrunners’”.

While Sheppard’s appearance was facilitated off the back of her Born To Be Country album, her connection to the series should come as no surprise, with her music having been played on previous seasons, and Amy herself having also appeared on a handful of other Channel 7 shows in the past.
