Asleep At The Wheel got its start on a farm in Paw Paw, West Virginia, and went on to become a cornerstone of the Austin, Texas music scene upon the band’s arrival in 1973. Inspired by western swing and honky-tonk country, the band has accrued an almighty 10 Grammy Awards and released more than twenty albums.

Asleep At The Wheel has been part of the American roots music landscape for more than 50 years. They’ve played and recorded with the likes of Willie Nelson, Alice Cooper, Emmylou Harris, Blind Boys Of Alabama and many other incredible artists, plus the influential Ray Benson was prominently featured in Ken Burns’ critically acclaimed Country Music docuseries.

Also, finally returning is the limited capacity Cripple Creek Ferry. An institution in years prior to the COVID restrictions, enjoy a fine ferry ride from Docklands over to Williamstown and back with a boat full of like-minded, cowboy hatted revellers.

The all-in ticket price includes festival admission, ferry transport, surprise musical acts on both journeys, complimentary snacks on the way over, and a commemorative, hand printed, poster at the end of the night. There is a full bar service on board and the good times sure do flow on this one.

For the 9th year, Out On The Weekend takes place on Saturday October 14 at the historic maritime haunt of Seaworks in Williamstown, hidden in the deep west of Melbourne.
