Aus Streaming Service Stan Scores The TV Rights For CMA Awards

October 20, 2023 1:53 am in by

Australian television, film and live sport streaming service Stan has scored the television rights of this year’s CMA Awards, Mumbrella reports.

The longest-running country music award ceremony aired on Channel Nine since 2017, but before that, it aired exclusively on Foxtel.

Stan’s airing of the CMA Awards follows its recent ventures into award ceremonies, including a live stream of this year’s ARIA Awards (Wednesday, 15 November) and the Golden Globe Awards earlier this year.

The 2023 CMA Awards are led by the most nominated artist of 2023, Lainey Wilson, as well as other famous stars, including Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Morgan Wallen, Carrie Underwood and Kelsea Ballerini. Luke Bryan is on hosting duties once again alongside NFL legend Peyton Manning.

Wilson is up for a jaw-dropping nine awards across seven categories. She’s nominated twice for Single Of The Year (thanks to her own track, Heart Like A Truck, as well as her similarly titled HARDY team-up Wait In The Truck) and Musical Event Of The Year (both for collaborative efforts, one being that HARDY joint and the other being Save Me with Jelly Roll), with singular nods for Entertainer Of The Year, Female Vocalist Of The Year, Album Of The Year (with Bell Bottom Country), Song Of The Year (with Heart Like A Truck), and Music Video Of The Year (with the HARDY joint).

The award ceremony will be held at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, 8 November. Check out the complete list of nominees below. Australian viewers can watch the CMA Awards at 11 am AEDT on Thursday, 9 November, on Stan.
