Fresh off taking out the crown on Australian Idol, Kesha Nevé is already lining up her next big moment, her debut at the Gympie Music Muster in 2026.
“I’m so excited, I’m telling everyone who has ears,” Kesha Nevé said.
The Jindabyne local is set to hit the Muster stage this August for the very first time, stepping into a festival that’s long been considered a rite of passage for country artists across Australia. While she hasn’t attended before, it’s clearly been on her radar.
“I’ve never actually been to Muster before, but I’ve heard nothing but good things,” she said. “That open-air, storytelling side of country music, that’s where I feel most at home. I honestly can’t wait.”
It’s a full circle moment that’s been building for a while. In fact, Gympie Music Muster programming director Bec Anderson revealed the team had already locked Kesha in before her Idol win sent her profile into overdrive.
“We had recently booked Kesha to play and were already looking forward to having her make her Muster debut,” Anderson said. “To see her take out the Idol crown was incredible and definitely icing on the cake.”
During her time on Australian Idol, Kesha built a reputation for her ability to connect deeply with songs even when they weren’t her own. Now, she’s stepping into a new chapter, ready to share original music shaped by years of experience growing up in the Snowy Mountains and travelling through rural communities.
“The show gave me the chance to tell stories through other people’s songs, but now I’m ready to tell my own,” she said. “I’ve been doing music since I could talk. Dad bought me my first guitar when I learned how to use my hands. I did my first competition at about eight years old called Jindy Idol, so it’s been a full circle moment in a lot of ways.”
Fans can expect a mix of familiar tracks and brand new material in her Muster set, with Kesha teasing what’s to come.
“Everyone get excited, my original music is coming,” she said.
But don’t expect her to just stick backstage. Like any true country fan, she’s just as keen to soak it all in from the crowd.
“Half of my love for music is being in the crowd and watching other artists,” she said. “I’ll be out there, front and centre.”
With more artists still to be announced, the 2026 Gympie Music Muster is already shaping up to be a big one.
