Far North Queensland country music fans are encouraged to wear their best Barbie and Ken costumes for the Get Bushed concert in Greenvale on Saturday, 29 June.

Concert organisers Bushed Australia are attempting to set a world record for the most Barbie and Ken impersonators at one event.

So, what do you need? Your best pink outfits, blonde wigs, and the confidence to own the place like Margot Robbie and Ryan Reynolds.

Organisers are after the Best Barbie Car, the Best-dressed Barbie and Ken, and the Best Ken and Barbie singers. The impersonations won’t just be fun, but your efforts will support charity organisations.

The outback concert, announced last month, will feature music from Brad Butcher, Jason Owen, Tania Kernaghan, Whiskey Band, Drew McAlister, Seleen McAlister, and Amber McIntosh.

Here’s what Get Bushed had to say about the Greenvale event: “Why not Get Bushed in Greenvale with great Australian country music singers, a long table dinner, dress up #barbie and #ken and a whole lot more.”

You can buy tickets via the Bushed Australia website. The proceeds will go to farming and isolated families across Australia.

The Get Bushed concert isn’t the only Aussie event that features epic dress-ups and charity-raising fun. The Birdsville Big Red Bash and the Broken Hill Mundi Mundi Bash are known for their community events, including the Nutbush City Limits World Record dance-off attempt, Mad Max dress-up event, Bashville Drags and the Mundi Undie Run, with proceeds from the latter two going to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
