Brad Cox Announces 'Yarns & Yodels' Australian Tour

February 7, 2024 8:56 am in by

Brad Cox has announced his next Australian tour – the Yarns & Yodels tour – but there’s a twist.

The Australian country music star will take his show to intimate theatres across regional Australia, promising a singalong and “a bloody good laugh” – making for a music meets comedy experience.

Cox explained in a press release, “The concept for the Yarns & Yodels shows was born out of the pandemic. After stripping back the show to an acoustic, sit-down, solo setting during lockdown, I fell in love with the format again. It forced me to re-learn songs and play them as they were written. Me, a bottle of wine, and the shits with the world - that’s the formula for good songs.

“I wanted to recreate these shows but take it one step further and out of the pubs and into intimate theatres. I have road-tested it a bunch of times, and now I am keen to take it far and wide. And who knew this little fat kid from the snow could muster up a few funny yarns and get a proper belly laugh out of the crowd.”

Cox’s upcoming tour takes place throughout April, May and June. He begins the run in Mackay, Queensland and stays in Queensland for a bunch of shows. He then heads to Western Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia. He’ll be joined by special guests Bud Rokesky and Midnight Chicken.

Tickets to the Yarns & Yodels tour go on sale on Thursday, 8 February, at 10 am local time via Brad Cox’s website. You can find all the dates and venue information below.

Brad Cox was the 2018 Toyota Star Maker winner at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, and in 2024, became a three-time Golden Guitar Award winner, taking home the accolades for Male Artist of the Year while his album, Acres, was named Contemporary Country Album of the Year and Top Selling Australian Country Album of the Year.
