2024 is already shaping up to be a fantastic year for Newcastle country music star Catherine Britt, with the singer-songwriter revealing that she and musician partner Bradley Bergen are engaged.
Britt shared their engagement announcement on Instagram on New Year’s Day. Posting an adorable photo with her husband-to-be (no ring in sight, sorry), she wrote in the caption:
Last night, while the fireworks were exploding in the Newcastle sky, on my birthday, New Years Eve, with all of our kids in our arms, I asked this man to marry me.
A plan I made with our children and they helped me execute it by helping me ask him. ❤️
It was chaotic and crazy, just like our life and he said YES
I love you @bergenbradley, my fiancé and I can’t wait to marry you and make it official for our little family that we are so in love with. This life with you is everything and I feel so lucky everyday
2024 is gonna be the best one yet!!!!
In a 2022 Instagram post, Bergen celebrated the pair’s blended family, coming together and posing with each other’s children. Congratulations to the happy couple!
Britt’s engagement announcement followed a super impressive 2023, which saw her take over US Independent Country Airplay Charts with her The Pleasures bandmate, Lachlan Bryan.
The Pleasures broke into the US Americana Radio AirPlay Chart in August 2023, reaching #36 on the Top 50 Albums Chart with The Beginning Of The End. With their charting position, they joined artists like Jason Isbell, Lucinda Williams, Lukas Nelson, and Grace Potter on the chart, to name a few. The album then spent two months in the chart.
Britt and Bryan formed The Pleasures in November 2021. Bryan said about his bandmate, “I don’t think I know anyone else who feels and understands country music the way Catherine does. She sounds authentic because she is authentic.
“When she opens her mouth and sings, you can hear the neon lights buzzing, you can taste the tequila, and you can barely see through the cloud of smoke. It’s all that stuff that people try and fake – they try and put in on – but it’s like she was just born with it.”
