Fans packed into Fortitude Music Hall expecting a night of country hits and good vibes, but Morgan Evans' Brisbane show got off to a chaotic start after a fight broke out in the crowd, delaying the singer's appearance on stage by around half an hour.
The incident unfolded before Evans took the stage, with multiple witnesses reporting that blows were exchanged between a couple of men before other concertgoers stepped in to try and de-escalate the situation.
As tensions escalated, security quickly responded. At one point, four security guards were required to restrain one man and hold him on the ground while the situation was brought under control.
Paramedics were also called to the venue and assessed three people involved in the altercation. While injuries were relatively minor, those treated reportedly suffered bruising and scratches, with one person also sustaining a bite wound during the scuffle.
The disruption delayed the start of Evans' performance by approximately 30 minutes, leaving fans waiting as venue staff and emergency responders dealt with the aftermath.
When the Australian country star eventually took to the stage, he addressed the incident directly, making it clear that violence had no place at his shows.
Evans reiterated that there was "no room" for that type of behaviour at his concert, or at any concert for that matter, drawing applause from the crowd as he encouraged fans to focus on enjoying the night together.
The incident came as Evans wrapped up his Steel Town Tour, a run of shows that has seen the singer reconnect with Australian audiences across the country.
Fortunately, once the situation was resolved, the focus shifted back to the music, with fans eager to put the drama behind them and enjoy the remainder of the night.
Let this be a reminder that live music is at its best when everyone in the room is there for the same reason: to have a good time and look out for one another.
