The good news keeps coming for Corey Legge, powering up what’s set to be an impressive 2024 by announcing his official endorsement from Fender Australia. Now, he has a new guitar: the Fender American Ultra Telecaster in Mocha Burst.

If you’ve seen any of Legge’s music videos – Countrytown has premiered a few – you’ll notice that the Bega-born, Wollongong-based artist loves to play a Fender guitar.

And how can he not? As he notes in his announcement post on social media, every legend from Jimi Hendrix to Stevie Ray Vaughan to country icons like Brad Paisley have performed with a Fender. Corey Legge is in great company.

Legge shared the exciting news on Friday (1 March), writing in a Facebook post:

I am now officially endorsed by Fender Introducing my brand new Fender American Ultra Telecaster in Mocha Burst! This guitar plays like an absolute dream and looks incredible. It's a massive honour to be a Fender artist, as some of the best guitarists of all time are synonymous with this iconic brand, including Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. I can't wait for you all to hear this amazing guitar on the road this year, as I have a huge number of shows coming up, both here in Australia and overseas. Dreams do come true!

Thanks so much to Heath at Fender Music Australia.

West Coast is the second single from Legge’s forthcoming, unnamed fourth album. While the album doesn’t have a release date attached to it yet, it’s one of Countrytown’s most anticipated albums of 2024.

In September, Countrytown premiered a different Corey Legge music video: Friday Nights.

In April 2022, Legge’s April Fool was named Countrytown’s Song Of The Day, which we called a “bittersweet alt-country song about the strength of love in the face of adversity and how easy it is to lose it all”.
