Every week, ABC Country's Grass Roots program shines a light on the best independently released Australian country content. Selected from the hundreds of new tracks submitted, the one-hour program is now available on demand as well as premiering each Monday at 9pm on ABC Country, showing the health of Aussie country music across all its sub-genres. Here are four of this week's tracks you should have on your radar.

Fallow Fields – When Your Love Is Over
Hailing from the misty hills of the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, Fallow Fields are a husband-and-wife duo who admit their latest tune was written in the heat of the moment following a disagreement. Rach sat down at the piano and sang this song at Danna in what may be the most hilarious and passive-aggressive move of all time. The result a rollicking feminist country banger to sing at the top of your voice.
The Cumberland River Project – Highway Blue (ft. Easton Driver)
Highway Blue was inspired by trips to the US by its writer and producer, Frank Renfordt. The song conjures up images of summer, long drives, freedom and The Eagles while telling the story of letting something go and starting something new. Frank called on his friend and session singer Easton Driver to lay down the vocals to capture the overall feeling he was chasing.
Virjilla Joyce – Wildflowers
Travelling around Australia over the last two years with her family as a full time musician in their beloved Rosa Mitsubishi Bus, affectionally dubbed ‘Rosalina’, Virjilla Joyce was captured by the beauty of the Aussie landscape. Wildflowers is her take on the Dolly Parton classic, with every word ringing true for Virjilla.
