Chris Stapleton tickets went on sale on Friday (12 April), and demand in pre-sales led to the announcement of new shows. At the time of publication, they’re already sold out.
With queues upwards of 100,000 potential ticket buyers trying to purchase tickets per show, Stapleton’s debut Australian headline shows were always bound to sell out, even with costly ticket prices.
While tickets to his Australian and New Zealand shows are all sold out, Ticketek still shows limited ticket prices, including the cheapest tiers, which range from $142.65 to $265 (before fees), General Admission Floor Standing tickets at $305.75, and another higher-priced admission at $499.45.
On the CMC Rocks fan page on Facebook, a punter shared a screenshot of additional ticket prices in Sydney, including Premium Reserved Seating at $611, A Reserve Seating at $244.35 and A Reserve Aisle Seating at $264.75.
If you missed out on tickets, there is a chance to score some, with KIX Country offering double passes in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. You can sign up here to enter the competition before it ends on Sunday, 2 June. KIX Country made the announcement on social media, revealing that winners will be notified by phone.
Chris Stapleton will perform at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on 25 and 26 February, Brisbane Entertainment Centre on 28 February and 1 March, and Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on 4 and 5 March. The singer, songwriter, and guitarist will then head to New Zealand, playing at Auckland’s Spark Arena on 7 and 8 March. Special guest Marcus King will join him on all dates.
Stapleton is touring in support of his latest album, Higher, which further expanded his appeal beyond country. With his raspy, rich vocals and rock ‘n’ roll songs that meet authentic country energy, he’s an artist that music listeners of any age enjoy.
Earlier this year, Stapleton solidified his growing critical acclaim after winning two Grammy Awards, Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song with the same song, White Horse, from Higher.
