With his Countrytown chart dominance and collaborations, it feels like James Johnston has been around forever. Despite his ubiquitous nature, the singer hasn’t released an album yet. That’s all about to change this September.
On Friday, 29 September, Johnston will release his epic 20-track debut album, Raised Like That. “I hope these 20 songs mean as much to you as they do to me,” the singer wrote on social media last night (17 August).
Fans can now pre-save the album to win a house concert hosted by James Johnston, no matter where they live, with the option of pre-saving closing on 28 September.
You can also pre-order merchandise bundles, including signed copies of limited-edition double vinyl, t-shirts, CDs, caps, and the digital album. Pre-order/pre-save your copy of Johnston’s debut album here.
According to the product description on his website, Raised Like That “Will take you on a full circle journey, from stories of life growing up in the country to reconnecting to your roots. Featuring hits like COUNTRY BOYS, RAISED LIKE THAT & SAME SONGS, plus 11 brand new album tracks.”
Earlier this year, Johnston signed with the CAA Music Agency in Nashville in a massive step for his international career. With the CAA Music Agency, the singer joins a stacked roster of artists, including Brett Young, Carly Pearce, Carrie Underwood, Cody Johnson, Dan + Shay, Jelly Roll, Jon Pardi, Keith Urban, Maren Morris, Sam Hunt, Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, Zac Brown Band and many more.
“Yesterday was one of the biggest days in my career!” Johnston wrote on social media upon his signing being announced. “When I was a kid, I looked at some of my heroes playing shows to audiences around the world, and I knew one day I wanted to be there! Yesterday I signed to CAA Music Agency in NASHVILLE to represent me for live performance around the world!
“I am so excited for this chapter and for where it will lead! Thank you for believing in me and my vision!”
Johnston will support Morgan Evans on his expansive Life Upside Down Australian and New Zealand tour this September.
