It’s a happy Friday indeed for James Johnston, who’s celebrating the entirety of his debut UK tour selling out in record time.
Earlier this week, the rising Australian country star announced that he’d be playing headline shows in the UK for the first time. The dates are taking place in August, with Johnston performing in Glasgow, Birmingham, and Manchester, as well as appearing at the already-announced Country Calling Festival in Chelmsford.
Pre-sale tickets went on sale on Wednesday, followed by the general sale on Thursday (30 April). And within ten minutes, Johnston found out that tickets to all three headline shows had been snapped up. His first-ever headline tour in the UK, completely sold out.
In good news for fans, Johnston is already in discussions about additional shows, as well as venue upgrades.
He celebrated the news by sharing reel on social media, in which he was on the phone with his manager and discussing his hopes for ticket sales, right before they were blown out of the water. You can watch the video below.
He also shared another post celebrating the news, writing: “Entire UK tour SOLD OUT in under 10 minutes!! Seriously mind blown by this! Thankyou!
“We’re working to upgrade all the venues. So, stay tuned and make sure you hit the link in my bio to join the waitlist for extra and upgraded shows!!”

James Johnston is touring in support of his critically acclaimed second album, WHERE YOU’LL FIND ME. He heads to the UK with new hits under his belt, including SMOKE I’VE KNOWN, featuring Chase Matthew, and DO YOU PLAY ANY COUNTRY.
His previous album, RAISED LIKE THAT, held the #1 spot on the ARIA Australian Country Albums Chart for a whopping 35 weeks.
Speaking on his international appeal, Johnston said when the UK dates were announced: “There’s just something so exciting about taking my songs and stories all the way across the world and finding people there who connect with them too.
“I’ve always believed country music speaks the same language, no matter where you’re from, so getting the chance to play these shows in the UK and meet the fans face to face means so much to me.”
