Controversial country music star Jason Aldean is once again polarising fans - this time due to a pro-Donald Trump rant on Facebook.
Following the former President’s 34 convictions of falsifying business records last Thursday (May 30), Aldean took to social media, posting an upside-down American flag, accompanied by a few sentences on his disappointment.
“Scary times in our country right now, man. When a former POTUS gets treated like this by our justice system, what does that mean for the rest of us???”
He continued, “If there was ever a time to speak up, ITS NOW! Make no mistake…. We are in trouble.”
The post garnered its fair share of attention, receiving 10K reactions, 3.4K comments, and 3.3K shares at the time of publication.
Many of the commenters were in agreement with Aldean, saying things like, “Say it loud Jason Aldean, so many are blinded by what's really going on. Praying for our Country!” and “I’m scared to death. I’m so sad for President Trump. The best thing to ever happen to this country is him being our President. They are doing this to keep him from winning this next election.”
Other commenters were less impressed with Aldean’s post, saying, “Seriously? He's a regular citizen, was tried by a jury that his attorney accepted. Since when is he above the law? And what's with the upside down flag? It's your knowledge about the legal system that's in trouble!” and “It’s a wonderful time in America when a citizen is found guilty by his peers for crimes he committed. It just shows no one is above the law.”
This isn’t the first time Aldean has polarised the nation. In July 2023, his music video for Try That In A Small Town was pulled by CMT - allegedly due to it being a “pro-lynching song”, according to Aldean. The song also sparked protests outside his concert in September, with protesters reportedly burning flags and labelling Aldean a “fascist piece of shit”.
Aldean had a scary start to the year when his plane had to make an emergency landing in January.
“Our plane, we thought, was gonna fall out of the sky,” Aldean said of the incident in a video with fellow passenger and singer Luke Bryan.
