They’re one of the most prominent couples in the world of country music, but reports have claimed that after ten years of marriage, Jelly Roll and wife Bunnie Xo have split.
The couple reportedly filed for divorce in Williamson County, Tennessee on May 18th, with the court documents being sighted by publications such as TMZ and People.
Sources have also claimed the decision was “mutual”, with TMZ stating they’ve not gone public with the news due to it being a “private family matter”.
Jelly Roll (whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord) met Bunnie Xo (whose real name is Alisa DeFord) in 2015 after she attended one of his concerts in Las Vegas, albeit a few years before his musical career began to make huge waves on an international level.
The pair would marry one year later on August 31st, 2016 at Vegas’ Little White Wedding Chapel, after Jelly Roll proposed onstage earlier that day. They have since been honest about the difficulties their relationship has faced, with Bunnie being forthcoming about the pair’s plans to conceive a child via IVF, calling it “one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through.”
Additionally, Jelly Roll previously opened up about his infidelity, labelling it “one of the worst moments of my adulthood” and stating that they had become “stronger than we could have ever been” as a result of the work to repair their marriage.
Bunnie – who has hosted the Dumb Blonde podcast since 2019 – also revealed previously that the pair briefly split in 2018, stating their “castle in the sand had to crumble so we could rebuild on solid ground.”
In 2023, the pair renewed their vows, taking to the same venue as their marriage on their seventh wedding anniversary. "7 years ago we stumbled into this little chapel in Vegas blackout drunk,” Jelly Roll said of the event. “My only regret was never seeing her in a dress."
The pair have not yet commented publicly on news of their split.
