It’s a good week for 2025 Ridin’ Hearts artists Josh Ross and MacKenzie Porter, both of whom won huge awards at the Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMAs).
The CCMAs took place at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Saturday (14 September) and saw Josh Ross take home impressive awards, making him the winner of the night. Ross won the Entertainer of the Year award, Male Artist of the Year, and Single of the Year for Trouble from the main awards.
Meanwhile, after Tenille Townes received the Female Artist of the Year every year since 2019, MacKenzie Porter won the award this year. She also took home the Video of the Year award for Chasing Tornadoes.
Album of the Year went to Jade Eagleson for Do It Anyway, Fans’ Choice and Group or Duo of the Year to James Barker Band, and Owen Riegling was crowned Breakthrough Artist or Group of the Year.
Other award winners from the CCMA Industry Gala Dinner and Awards included Morgan Wallen (for Top Selling Album of the Year), The Reklaws and Drake Milligan won Musical Collaboration of the Year, Brett Kissel’s The Compass Project: West Album was named Alternative Country Album of the Year, while Ross won again for Top Selling Canadian Album of the Year with Complicated, and Top Selling Canadian Single of the Year with Trouble.
In response to his win, Ross wrote on his Instagram Stories, “a lot of thoughts and feelings tonight going to bed. all i can say is thank you to the fans, family and friends. congrats on an amazing year @ccmaofficial beyond thankful. we just getting started”.

MacKenzie Porter wrote on her Instagram, “Last night we won FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR at the @ccmaofficial awards!!! I say “we” cuz my whole team and family have been working towards this for years and years!! You all know who you are I love you guys so so damn much.
“There are so many amazing women in country music and I’m really REALLY proud to be one of them. How fitting the first time I win “female” is the year I became a mom to a lil girl. Thank you guys for letting me live my dream gonna go cry now”.
