Lainey Wilson has just dropped a new single, Hang Tight Honey, ahead of her album Whirlwind, which will be released on August 23.
Wilson referred to the single as “an anthem for the hard working men and women that get up every dang day and put in long hours to make a life worth living for the ones they love most”.
Hang Tight Honey blends country with whispers of ‘70s rock, a happy and encouraging bop about perseverance and love.
The Things A Man Oughta Know singer posted on X (formerly Twitter) about the drop, saying her music career has been hard lately.
“I’ve been runnin’ the roads nonstop for a few years now and I ain’t gonna lie to y’all, sometimes it can be tough being away from home that much,” she said. “At the same time, remembering what ‘home’ is and the things that I get to do for the ones I love because of the work I put in, is what keeps me going and makes it all worthwhile.”
Wilson has just returned to America after headlining Australia’s CMC Rocks Festival and playing sold-out sideshows around the country.
Her forthcoming album Whirlwind will be “the most cathartic and personal piece of art” Wilson has released.
Hang Tight Honey comes off the back of Wilson’s recent collaboration with Keith Urban, GO HOME W U.
