Fans were stunned when they thought they saw the real Luke Combs walking down the steps during a show at Busch Stadium in St Louis, Missouri. Combs was headlining alongside openers, Lainey Wilson, Flatland Cavalry, Riley Green and Brent Cobb.
The moment, which has gone viral on TikTok, sees the look-alike sporting the same beard and build as Combs and wearing a Blue Otters sunglasses cap and Comb’s iconic Columbia fishing PFG shirt. The doppelgänger walked past several rows of fans during Wilson’s set as people got out their phones to video the moment while others clapped, patted him on the back and threw him high fives.
You can watch the video here.
Someone on TikTok commented, “There was like 10 Luke look-alikes tonight lol,” while another said, “I took my nephew to see him in Idaho last month and the amount of look-alikes walking around was amazing! Even my nephew wore the same shirt lol.”
Still, you could have fooled us. We don’t know what we would have done in that situation.
Combs is currently on his world tour. He will play back-to-back shows at Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 August, before heading to Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 August and Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 August, and making debut stops at Adelaide’s AEC Arena on Wednesday 23 August and Perth’s RAC Arena on Saturday 26 August.
He will be joined by US country star Cody Johnson and Australian singer-songwriter Lane Pittman on all Australia and New Zealand dates.
The upcoming tour is just the latest milestone in an already monumental career for Combs, whose recent albums, Growin’ Up and Getting’ Old, both peaked at #2 on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart. Combs recorded both together but decided to release them as two separate albums. They follow his first two album releases: 2019’s 3x Platinum What You See is What You Get and his 4x Platinum debut, This One’s For You.
Fellow doppelgängers have a chance to win the last two tickets left to Combs’ Sydney show thanks to Sony Music Australia. To be eligible, fans will need to show up dressed as Combs. Throughout the night they will quietly shortlist 8x finalists and the winner will be chosen by the fans. More information can be found here.

His current single, Fast Car – a cover of Tracy Chapman’s 1988 folk-rock ballad – recently peaked at #1 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Airplay Chart. It also currently sits at #3 on the ARIA Top 50 Singles Chart.
Combs said, “I love that song so much, and I think it’s such a great song that it deserves to be heard by a whole generation of people that haven’t heard it before, and so to be able to, like, have an opportunity to do that, especially with a song that’s meant so much to me and my love of music from as far back as I can remember is super unique.”
