Luke Combs is back on a new album cycle, surprise announcing that he’s releasing a new album, Fathers & Sons, next week.
The announcement arrived as the highly anticipated single, The Man He Sees In Me, teased earlier this week, was finally released.
“Excited to announce my new album Fathers & Sons will be out NEXT Friday, June 14,” Combs wrote on Instagram alongside pictures of the album art and tracklist.
“Track 7 – ‘The Man He Sees in Me’ is out now! I can’t wait for y’all to hear the full album next week and hope y’all love this project as much as I do.”
With other song titles such as Little Country Boys, Whoever You Turn Out To Be, Remember Him That Way, My Old Man Was Right, and Take Me Out To The Ball Game, it seems like Combs is releasing a concept album of some kind that explores the bond between fathers and their sons.
The official first single, The Man He Sees In Me, mentions a boy wearing “Spider-Man and Walmart boots,” immediately painting a picture of a son looking up to his father. The music video finds Combs and his band performing the song live in the studio—check it out below.

It’s been a busy year for Combs, who recently contributed the lead track for the upcoming film Twisters with Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma. He’s also preparing to open a bar in Nashville and premiered the “dad” song, Plant A Seed, on social media back in January. Plant A Seed is also on the Fathers & Sons tracklist.
Luke Combs is the father of two boys: Tex Lawrence, born in June 2022, and Beau Lee, born in August 2023.
