2023 has been a big year for Melody Moko.

In February, she released her third album, Suburban Dream, appeared at the BIGSOUND music festival and conference event in September, and starred in the latest season of the Channel 9 series Parental Guidance alongside her husband Michael and three children. Why not close the year with a bang?

Taking to social media on Thursday (12 October), Moko revealed that her music has been submitted to the Recording Academy for eligibility for nomination in the 2024 Grammy Awards. Suburban Dream has been submitted for consideration in the Best Americana Album and Best New Artist categories, while her single Jesus Year has been offered for Best Americana Performance.

The Recording Academy is only currently embarking on its first-round voting, so anything can happen from here. We have our fingers crossed!

“A first for me, and an honour to be considered by the Recording Academy for first-round voting for  GRAMMY Awards ® consideration, in not one, not two, but THREE categories,” Moko wrote on Instagram. “Big shoutout to the manager who makes the wheels turn Red Rebel Music. If you are a voting member.. Get dreamy with us.”

On the single Jesus Year, Moko explained, “Jesus Year came about from a concept my manager (Kaz Waters) wanted me to embody. A Jesus year is your 33rd year, a year where you are reborn in some sense.
