Hometown Morgan Wallen fans were in for a shock on Friday night (20 September) as the Last Night singer played his first of two shows at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee.

According to a report on Taste Of Country, Wallen was met with an ecstatic 70,000 fans, with their supporting shouts apparently reaching 114 decibels.

After opening the show with classic tunes Ain’t That Some and I Wrote The Book, Wallen addressed the audience and said: “I really appreciate that warm; that means a lot to me.

“The last time I was in this stadium, I was watching Tennessee kick Alabama’s ass. I can't think of a better way to follow it up than to be here playing two sold-out shows this weekend. This is one of the most special days of my entire life, and I’m very glad you guys chose to spend this weekend here with me – it means a lot.”

In a “nice surprise” for fans, Wallen performed an acoustic version of Quittin’ Time alongside Eric Church.

Church was just one of the surprise special guests at Wallen’s show, with HARDY and ERNEST also taking to the stage. During the show, Wallen also revealed that his forthcoming single, Love Somebody, will be released on Friday, 18 October. You can pre-add/pre-save the track here.
