Morgan Wallen is teasing new music once again, and fans can’t get enough.

Taking to Instagram today (8 August), the singer-songwriter shared a 30-second snippet of an unreleased song. The track has a chilled, more Bon Iver-type vibe, with falsetto leading into the main verse. Wallen sings a relatable song about heartbreak over an acoustic guitar.

In the snippet, he sings:

I can’t remember the last time,
You looked as happy as you did tonight,
Your tipsy friend grabbed that bartender,
Gave him your her phone,
And pulled us over there with her,
We counted to three,
And baby, I haven’t seen that side of you in forever,

I hate it’s the truth,
Baby, you never do when we’re alone together,
But it was good to see you smile,
Girl, you know it’s been a while,
It was good to see you smile,
Even if it was just for the picture

Enjoying the tease, Wallen captioned the video with a smiley face emoji.

The video has received much enthusiasm already, with fellow country star Bailey Zimmerman writing, “THIS THAT SH*T”. Fans, meanwhile, are begging for Wallen to release the new song, stating that whatever he’s working on will be special, and many describing the song as beautiful. Jelly Roll referred to Wallen as “Mr Don’t Miss.”

You can check out the teaser below.

This isn’t the first time that one of Wallen’s unreleased songs has blown fans away. Last month, an unreleased Morgan Wallen song called Always Have, Always Will went viral on TikTok.

Always Have, Always Will separates itself from other Wallen songs that have gone viral on the platform, not only because it’s a snippet of music we haven’t heard on an album before, but because it’s a real throwback to his older tunes.

The song follows the success of songs like I Guess and Somebody’s Problem on the platform.

On Friday, 5 July, Wallen released a highly anticipated track he’d teased online months before its official release. Lies, Lies, Lies is a melancholy song written by Jessie Jo Dillon, Josh Miller, Daniel Ross, and Chris Tompkins. It was produced by Joey Moi and recorded by Wallen at London’s Studio Two at Abbey Road Studios back in December.

In other recent Morgan Wallen news, the country star recently deactivated his Instagram before returning this week - what’s he up to?
