Luke Combs recently took a lighthearted jab at Post Malone on social media, calling out the rapper-turned-country star for sporting counterfeit Luke Combs merchandise during one of his performances.

The merch in question, a shirt prominently displaying Combs' photo, surname, and the title of his hit song Beer Never Broke My Heart, was labelled as a "bootleg" by the country star himself.

In a teasing Instagram Story, Combs wrote:

"Shirt is gas. Even though it’s bootleg haha." While Post Malone got lightly called out, Combs makes it clear that he’s just joshing with the I Had Some Help singer.

This playful interaction is a callback to Combs' own legal battles with counterfeit merchandise. Last year, Combs' legal team pursued a $250,000 lawsuit against a fan selling unauthorised Luke Combs tumblers, which drew criticism for targeting smaller-scale sellers.

Combs later expressed regret over the situation, indicating his desire to support rather than penalize the home-run seller caught up in the merch controversy.

The dynamic between Combs and Malone is one of camaraderie. Combs is one of the many country artists Malone has built a bond with after the making of his debut country album, F-1 Trillion.

The album, which was released in August, features almost all the big country names, including Lainey Wilson, Chris Stapleton, Dolly Parton, Morgan Wallen, Jelly Roll, and, of course, Luke Combs himself. The two artists collaborated on tracks like Guy For That and Missin’ You Like This from the new album, which garnered huge success already within its first three weeks in the world.

As Malone continues his F-1 Trillion tour across North America, fans are eager to see how this lighthearted exchange plays out between these two genre-bending artists. Maybe we’ll get a Post Malone bootleg shirt next…
