Shania Twain Announced As 2026 ACM Awards Host

April 23, 2026 1:56 pm in by

Country music icon Shania Twain is officially taking the reins as host of the upcoming Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards for the very first time in her career.

And what a moment it will be. If you’re going to hand the mic to anyone, it might as well be the woman who helped redefine the genre.

From Come On Over era dominance in the 90s to still selling out arenas decades later, putting Twain front and centre at one of country music’s biggest nights feels less like a long-overdue power move.

Between her charisma, quick wit and that signature “don’t impress me much” confidence, there’s a very real chance this could be one of the most entertaining ACM Award ceremonies in years.

This year’s nominations are very much a girls’ club (in the best way possible). Megan Moroney leads the pack with an impressive nine nominations, marking a huge moment in her career, while Miranda Lambert follows closely behind with eight. Not far off, Ella Langley and Lainey Wilson are tied with seven nominations each, cementing a seriously strong showing from female artists across the board.

On the guys’ side, Chris Stapleton scored six nods, with Zach Top and Cody Johnson also picking up multiple nominations.

For Aussie fans, the good news is you won’t have to dodge spoilers on social media. The ACM Awards will be streaming live on Amazon Prime Video on May 18th at 10am AEST, so you can tune in in real time with a coffee in hand.

Between the lineup, the performances and now Shania Twain at the helm, this year’s ACMs are shaping up to be more than just another awards show.
