Shania Twain Falls On Stage: “I Did Stick The Landing Though”

July 3, 2023 11:43 pm in by

Shania Twain took a tumble onstage during a recent stop in Chicago at Credit Union 1 Amphitheater in Tinley Park on Saturday, July 1, as part of her Queen Of Me tour. The Giddy Up! singer was performing her hit, Don’t Be Stupid (You Know I Love You) when she slipped and fell on the stage.

In a video captured by a fan (who captioned in part, ‘She nailed it, but God [don’t I] love to see people fall!), Twain yells, "Don't be stupid, Chicago! You know I love you!" from the floor before getting back to her feet without missing a beat.

Twain responded to the incident on Twitter, writing, “I did stick the landing though ” Additionally, she shared a number of images from the Chicago concert.

Back in May, Twain went under fire online when fans accused the singer of lip-syncing on tour, causing droves of fans to walk out after only four songs

"Unbelievable. Pay good money and just to watch lip-syncing? Shame on you [Shania Twain]. So disappointed," a fan wrote, while another captioned, "Shania Twain was a trainwreck last night. Let's go (home) girls."

Another commented, “Okay…I couldn’t figure out if she was drunk or high, but she was horrible. Glad we weren’t the only ones who thought it,” while another fan wrote, “Just left Seattle show and I am baffled. She was off. Lip syncing and talking weird.”

“I don’t want to sh*t on Shania, but like, it was the worst concert I think I’ve ever been to,” another fan stated.

If you search #shaniatwainconcert2023 on TikTok, it's also evident that Twain wasn't just having one bad night. Of course, Twain has faced a number of medical issues over the years, publicly revealing her battle with Lyme disease that forced her to undergo throat surgery and affected her voice.

Others have questioned her outfit and wig choices. Twain defended her new look, stating, “I find that the very things that I get criticised for, which is usually being different and just doing my own thing and just being original, is the very thing that’s making me successful.”

Twain recently announced her expanded version of her latest album, Queen Of Me: Royal Edition (Extended) will feature a duet called On Three with Billy Ray Cyrus.

She wrote on social media, “I’m happy to announce Queen Of Me: Royal Edition (Extended)! This version includes a couple of tracks that some of you may be familiar with...”

Twain added, "I'd already written On Three and was in the studio recording it, I could just hear a sexy man with a southern accent counting the song in and the first person that came to mind was Billy Ray Cyrus . I called him up and literally had him record it down the phone."

She also recently joined Essex-born star, Anne-Marie on her banger, UNHEALTHY. The pop-country track features on Anne-Marie’s third album of the same name.

Always wanting to write a country-influence song as well as being a lifetime fan of Twain’s, Anne-Marie sent Twain a DM earlier this year suggesting a collaboration after initially cutting the track solo.
