The rumours were true: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially married. The ceremony took place in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, at Madison Square Garden, on Friday (3 July).
A spokesperson for Swift confirmed the wedding took place in a statement, per The Guardian.
“Taylor + Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, her brother Austin Swift served as Taylor’s Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was Travis’ Best Man,” the statement reads. “The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.”
Screens outside the venue also lit up to confirm the news, with a celebratory message reading from Friday evening: “JUST&T MARRIED!”
Reports on Thursday and Friday indicated that a “frenzy” of activity took over New York City in the lead-up to the A-list wedding, with guests including singer Ed Sheeran, actors Hugh Grant, Bradley Cooper and Ethan Hawke, actress Lena Dunham, Swift’s producer Jack Antonoff, model Gigi Hadid, NFL stars Cooper Kupp and JuJu Smith-Schuster, and more appearing in formal attire across the city.
Swift and Kelce started dating in July 2023 while the Love Story singer was in the midst of her epic Eras Tour.
In September 2023, the pair went public with their relationship, with Swift appearing at Arrowhead Stadium to watch Kelce and the Chiefs play against the Chicago Bears.
In early 2024, the couple made headlines when they kissed on the field after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl – Kelce scoring his third Super Bowl win – against the San Francisco team, the 49ers.
Following the win, and while still on tour, Swift adjusted the lyrics of her hit song, Karma, to reference Kelce. She sang, “Karma is the guy in the Chiefs, coming straight home to me.”
Last August, the couple announced their engagement, writing in a joint Instagram post, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
