Morgan Evans’ grand return to Australia has been met with phenomenal demand, with the Over For You singer adding a third and final show in Newcastle for his August and September run across the country.
The new addition follows an already-announced whopping 13 shows in Australia and New Zealand, with special guest James Johnston joining him on all dates, excluding the Sydney Opera House.
Due to overwhelming demand, Evans has previously added extra shows in multiple cities, including Melbourne, Perth, Newcastle, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane. You can find the remaining tickets to Evans’ Life Upside Down Tour via Frontier Touring.
The new Newcastle date will see Evans perform on Monday, 4 September, and the sold-out nights on Tuesday, 5 September, and Saturday, 9 September. During his upcoming Life Upside Down tour, Evans will make his Sydney Opera House debut on Tuesday, 12 September (sold out), and a second show the following night.
The demand is a real-life example of a new Luminate report’s findings that showed Australia as the third-largest market for country music, only behind the US and Canada.
“Newy we've added another show and we are coming for you!” Evans wrote on Instagram last night. As well as sharing information about the new show, the Australian-born, Tennessee-based artist detailed a competition to win tickets to this year’s Gympie Music Muster.
You can find out more about the competition on Evans’ Instagram.
Last week, Evans joined forces with Bryon Bay-based alt-pop singer Kita Alexander for her latest single, Date Night.
The heart-warming ballad is Alexander’s first foray into country music (previously released single, 7 Minutes In Heaven, is also acoustic, but with more of a pop edge) that she wrote in just 20 minutes after challenging herself to write a song inspired by the genre.
Evans said about the collaboration, “I’ve been a fan of Kita’s voice since the first time I heard it, and I’m so stoked to be a part of this record. To me, ‘Date Night’ is authentic, effortless and genre-less storytelling that sounds at home in my old F150 in Tennessee as it does on the beach in Byron Bay. Can’t wait for folks to hear this one!”
