Willie Nelson and his wife, Annie, will release a book this November packed with “mouthwatering” recipes featuring cannabis and the stories behind them.
Arriving on Tuesday, 12 November, Willie & Annie Nelson’s Cannabis Cookbook will contain cannabis-infused recipes for all-time classic bites, including Buffalo wings, chocolate cake, fried chicken, and more. The book will also feature an additional chapter on cannabis-infused ingredients readers can use, such as cannabutter, finishing oil, syrups, salts, and sugars.
The book will highlight Nelson’s storytelling abilities and combine his experience with herbal remedies with Annie’s love for cooking.
A synopsis of the book reads: “Each recipe provides a cannabis kick to ease the mind as much as the body, making their cookbook an exciting, comforting, and lively way to dive into their story, as they draw from meals shared with family, friends, and fans alike.”
You can pre-order Willie & Annie Nelson’s Cannabis Cookbook from Simon & Schuster and Amazon.
Willie Nelson announced the release of his 75th album, The Border, in March. The ten-track album will be released on Friday, 31 May. You can pre-order/pre-save it here.
The forthcoming album follows a string of successful albums released by Nelson, including 2022’s A Beautiful Time and the 2023 records I Don’t Know A Thing About Love (a tribute album to Harlan Howard) and Bluegrass.
A Beautiful Time won the Grammy Award for Country Album of the Year last year, while the Crowell and Chris Stapleton-penned single, I’ll Love You Till The Day I Die, was nominated for Best Country Song.
In 2022, Snoop Dogg revealed that the highest he’s ever been was when he smoked weed with Willie Nelson. “We was in Amsterdam on 4/20 (the annual worldwide cannabis celebration on April 20), and he was doing a concert out there. So, we went back to his hotel room, and we was playing dominoes,” Snoop Dogg explained in the Let’s Go! podcast.
The rapper continued, "Me and him were playing dominoes one-on-one. He (was) whooping my ass, and I’m just getting higher and higher and higher."
He then exclaimed that the 89-year-old music icon was out smoking him: "He just keep passing it (the joint) to me, and I’m like, ‘This old motherfucker out smoking me."
While Willie Nelson quit smoking marijuana to take better care of his lungs in 2019, his son Lukas confirmed that his father still enjoys the substance via “vaping, edibles, gummies, drops, etc.”
