Zac & George have cranked up the hype machine once more, teasing a new song that we’re certain will be a chart-topping hit in no time.

Over a buoyant, pop-leaning country jam, the titular Sydney duo sing in their infectious preview (which they posted on Facebook): “Beer on the water / Bourbon on the rocks / Starting up the block to make time stop for a minute / We’re just living / Ain’t worried ‘cause we know we’ve got / Chesney when it’s good / Whitley when it’s bad / Yeah it’s been a year, we can cheers to that / It’s a crazy life / Don’t need a lot / Beer on the water / Bourbon on the rocks…”

In a comment posted under the clip, Zac & George assured fans they’ll be “announcing [a] release date soon”. They’re yet to confirm the song’s official title, but since this preview was posted with the hashtag #beerontherocks, it’s not too hard to guess what they’ve got in mind for it.

The pair dropped a string of massive singles in 2023, starting with another liquor-tinged country-pop belter, Bar Stool, in January. They followed it up in April with Sleep On It, before linking up with James Johnston for the joint effort SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE in July. From there came Nothin’ To Lose in September, followed by a whopping three songs in November: Call It A Day, Lovin’ In It and Get You Backroads.

Last week, KIX Radio revealed that Sleep On It was the station’s 20th most-played song for 2023. Bar Stool also ranked highly in their annual sweep, coming in at #36.
