Australian country music artist Adam Brand shared horrific news on his Instagram yesterday, revealing that his Gold Coast home had been “consumed by fire”.
A Queensland Fire and Rescue spokesperson told news.com.au that nine firefighting crews were called after reports of a housefire were made on Monday afternoon (4 December). Upon arrival at the scene, partial roof collapse was observed, with crews attempting to put out the blaze for half an hour. Investigators are working to discover the source of the fire.
Reacting to the horrific ordeal, Brand took to Instagram yesterday and wrote, “It was with a sense of surreal shock that I saw my home being consumed by fire. This is a moment that shakes you to the core, a stark reminder of the unpredictable journey of life.”
Brand went on to express his deepest gratitude that he and his family are safe. “The loss of a home is a devastating blow, but having my girls safe and unharmed puts everything in perspective. We are safe and together, and that's what truly matters,” he said.
He continued, “I am still in the process of comprehending the full extent of this situation. The memories and personal treasures lost in the flames are irreplaceable, but I am reminded of the resilience and strength that we all possess in times of adversity.
“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the amazing firefighters who battled the blaze. To my fans and the community, your outpouring of support has been a source of comfort and strength. It's in moments like these that the true power of human kindness shines through.”
His Instagram post was met with an outpouring of support from Australian music peers, including Scott Darlow, Lyn Bowtell, Caitlyn Shadbolt, Andrew Swift, Angus Gill, and more.
Earlier this year, Brand was nominated for the Best Independent Country Album or EP at the 2023 AIR Awards for his album All Or Nothing.
All Or Nothing features the hit singles Still The One and the title track, co-written by The Wolfe Brothers, which peaked at #1 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Airplay Chart upon release. The album and single were nominated for a stack of Golden Guitar Awards, including Single of the Year, Song of the Year, Contemporary Country Album of the Year and Album of the Year. The AIR Award subsequently went to Andy Golledge’s Strength Of A Queen.
